Nora Cotterelle, a woman in her 30s is caring for her ill father, Louis Jenssens.
While Nora tries to present a facade that all is well with her life, she is twice divorced and has a son, Elias, whose father is dead. Elias has behavior problems caused by autism.
Nora’s present relationship is not going well, and she is soon to marry a businessman, while Elias is becoming increasingly withdrawn.
A parallel storyline follows her former lover and second husband, Ismaël Vuillard, a musician, with whom she had lived for seven years. He is given to strange behaviour, and as a result he has been committed to a mental hospital, from which he is planning to escape…

Moko e Flama sono soli in casa. L’X Box è il loro unico divertimento interrotto da una coetanea vicina di casa, Rita, alla ricerca di un forno dove cuocere il suo dolce “speciale”. I due la spediscono in cucina ma un improvviso black out li obbliga a un pomeriggio tutto diverso. / Español: Temporada de patos relata la historia de dos adolescentes, quienes junto a su vecina y un repartidor de pizzas, tratan de encontrarle sentido a sus vidas en un departamento de Tlatelolco. Filmada bajo una estética minimalista, y con precisas imágenes en blanco y negro, el primer largometraje de Fernando Eimbcke es capaz de transmitir el hastío de sus protagonistas. Un film sulla resilienza e sul bisogno di riappropriarsi della propria personalità creativa, al di là di un’orizzonte tragico di eventi, personale o collettivo che sia. Protagonista del film è Brook, musicista e cantautore dal promettente talento, apprezzato nella scena musicale indie della sua città, San Diego, nonostante faccia di tutto per apparire come un cinico stronzo. In realtà Brook non si è mai davvero ripreso dalla perdita della madre e dalla recente rottura con la fidanzata, e sembra deciso a riconsiderare la sua arte come una assoluta perdita di tempo. Niente e nessuno sembra smuoverlo dall’apatia, neanche il suo amico hipster Clarke che fa di tutto per tirarlo su. Una visita inaspettata lo costringerà a rimettersi in gioco. Ma la vera protagonista del film è la musica. Una colonna sonora, che vi trascinerà per tutta la durata del film, composta dai musicisti della scena indie contemporanea di San Diego.
