Il video, girato in soggettiva, a camera fissa, si sviluppa in un viaggio notturno sull’autostrada Roma-Venezia. Le luci delle auto, gli autogrill, i tunnel fanno da sfondo a un tragitto interiore e ipnotico accompagnato da un commento di suono e frequenze. Un lungo viaggio nel non-senso attraverso l’uso di ogni possibile oggetto e strumento che sia ritenuto adatto a riprodurre tutto e il contrario di tutto. Phlox si insinua nell’estetica dell’anti-estetica, crea ambienti magmatici, sotterranei, frenati da ondate di rumore che vanno a ripescare sonorità del quotidiano distorte, modificate e sovrapposte a livelli ulteriori di tappeti sonori. Un lavoro di stratificazione e intarsio.
A car night trip on the Rome-Venice highway. Car lights, gas stations, tunnels, are the backdrop for an an interior and hypnotic journey accompanied by sound frequencies. It’s a long journey through non-sense by using every possible object and instrument that is deemed suitable for play everything and its opposite. Phlox creeps in the aesthetics of the anti-aesthetic, creates magmatic and underground environments, held back by waves of noise that go to dug out the everyday distorted sounds, modified and overlapped to further levels of sound landscapes. A work of stratification and inlay.
